Capabilities / Peer Review

Peer Review

Acting as an extension of a government agency or a project stakeholder, BKM applies its expertise to the systematic review of a project’s engineering systems design for technical merit, code compliance, functionality, and specific RFP requirements.

BKM has been working on a national Peer Review contract for the Department of Veterans Affairs for the past five years. Under this contract we have written and/or enforced agency design standards for projects ranging from $10 million to $300 million. BKM has performed formal peer reviews for other agencies such as the Maryland Department of General Services, as well as multiple private clients.

We have an established process in place for peer review, including thorough documentation that makes it easy to act on our findings. We can identify problems before the design ever gets to the contractor, we can be sure local code requirements are met, and we can provide reassurance to the owner or other stakeholders that the design meets their expectations. Contact us to discuss your project.
