BKM provided MEP services for the renovation of 6,000 square feet of laboratory space and 4,000 square feet of administrative and common amenities space in the existing 140,000-square-foot facility serving the Delaware Innovations Space on the DuPont Experimental Station Campus.
The renovated 10,000 square feet consists of wet labs with chemical hoods, a spectroscopy lab, a chromatography lab as well as huddle rooms and work stations. The new lab areas will be able to support a variety of different research and processes. The goal of the project is to create an “innovation space” and research incubator to support multiple new, small research groups. Piped laboratory services have been provided to all new laboratory spaces; including domestic water, deionized water, vacuum, compressed air, nitrogen, high pressure nitrogen, locally manifolded helium, and specialty gas manifolds to mix helium and hydrogen to serve the specific needs of each laboratory space.
