As part of an on-call contract, BKM was the prime consultant for the MEP upgrades to Clearspring Elementary School.
BKM provided design services for the replacement of six existing split system air handling units (indoor AHU with rooftop condensing unit) with new rooftop DX units. The existing gymnasium heating and ventilating (H&V) unit was replaced with a new H&V unit. BKM also designed the replacement of over 60 fan coil units. The existing two-pipe units was reconnected to the existing dual temperature piping system. In addition, approximately six unit heaters and two cabinet heaters were replaced. BKM provided design services for the replacement of two existing gas fired boilers with new condensing boilers. All new mechanical equipment was provided with electrically actuated DDC controls and integrated with the existing MCPS energy management system.
