I-95 Travel Plazas at Maryland & Chesapeake House

BKM provided MEP design services for the redevelopment of the Maryland and Chesapeake Houses for the Maryland Transportation Authority.

The new Maryland House building is approximately 40,000 square feet, while the new Chesapeake House is approximately 30,000 square feet. The redevelopment plan included contemporary design, additional bus parking, gas servicing area, food services, and a staffed welcome center. The facilities are designed for LEED Silver certification and include green features such as high efficiency interior lighting and a green roof. The Maryland House opened in January of 2014, and the Chesapeake House opened the following August.
