BKM mourns the loss of Gary E. Johnson, Jr., PE, CxA, ATD

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Gary Johnson, partner of BKM and TiePoint-bkm.

Gary began his career at BKM in 1987, working directly under founding member Tom Murphy. After seven years with BKM, Gary joined Whitman, Requardt & Associates as the mechanical department head for the building design group. After ten years away from BKM, he returned to the firm in 2004 as an owner.

In 2007, Gary launched BKM’s Mission Critical Facilities division, BKM–MCF. In 2015, BKM joined with TiePoint Engineering, LLC to provide full MEP design services for mission critical facilities. Gary was instrumental in the merger of the two firms and led the mechanical group at TiePoint-bkm.

Gary was an incredibly skilled and dedicated engineer but, more importantly, a loving father, husband, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, the family will receive friends from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville. On Wednesday, November 24, 2021, funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM at the Haight funeral home. Interment in Springfield Cemetery, Sykesville.
