Read more about what Kaylee had to say:

  • Why did you want to work at BKM? “I first discovered BKM at the Penn State AE Career Fair. Once I learned about their family-orientated atmosphere, I knew it was the place for me. I enjoy working with all of my co-workers and the relationships I have made. The folks here have fostered my professional growth and want what’s in my best interest.”
  • Why earning your PE was important to you? “Ever since I was in high school I wanted to be an engineer and earning my PE fulfilled my decade-long dream! Becoming a licensed PE was not only a natural step in my career, but it opens up opportunities to climb the company ladder and work towards a role in management. I am so thrilled to finally have my PE and have achieved this goal.”
  • What did you do in preparation to take the notorious PE exam? “It took over 3 months of studying daily to feel prepared. Discipline and repetition were keys in the studying process. I also had a built-in study buddy, my husband Zach, which definitely helped me stay focused. He took the PE with me and also passed!”
  • What advice do you have for others considering becoming PEs? “I encourage all designers to get their PE as soon as they are eligible. It is such a rewarding experience that can open many doors, plus it’s a great ‘club’ to be a part of!”
